Fairy Garden Party...

In my last post, I showed you some fairy garden "Inspiration".
You can see it HERE.
Here is the fairy garden I put together for my daughter's birthday present....
It even has lights that glow at night!
I found a metal container at TJ Maxx and filled it with moss.
We added the blue rocks and made a river with them.
 (Also from the Dollar Store)
The mushroom house and swing are from Gordmans.
The tree house is from Hobby Lobby and the door actually opens, so her fairies can go inside!
We made the ladder with some branches from our yard.

She was so excited that she decided to have a fairy princess party!
We headed to the dollar store for supplies...
We bought each girl fairy wings, a crown and a wand!
They loved them!
When each girl arrived, we had a little Fairy Ceremony.  We had them each sit in the "Queen" chair and my daughter waved her wand and they each earned their fairy wings.
Then they had a fairy parade.

Next, we made mini-fairy gardens...
They turned out so cute and each girl got to take one home.
The buckets and grass are also from the Dollar Store.
I filled each bucket with tissue paper and topped them off with the grass.
I made each girl a tee-pee out of skewers and a flower napkin!

I found a package of little plastic fairies at Hobby Lobby and each girl picked out their own.
They each got a flower, some rocks, a butterfly and a mini dog!

My older daughter did face paint for each girl.
She painted a butterfly or a snowflake.
My sister was kind enough to model for us,
She even had a butterfly shirt on for the party!
Then we served cake, opened presents and then it was time to go home.
It was a success...
This "Fairy Princess" was sure happy!
I think her friends had a great time too!

Fairy Gardens

During my kids' spring break, we spent a day at Gardner Village.
It was all decorated with fairy gardens...
My little girl loved them and now wants one for her birthday!
I've been gathering supplies and wanted to share a few of my "inspirations"...

There are so many fun ideas!
I'll be sharing our "Fairy Garden" with you on Monday!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Easter/Spring Decor...

Happy Easter!
A few days late!
It's been a rough month, everyone took a turn getting sick!
Luckily, they were all feeling good for Easter.
I love how bright and cheerful Spring decor makes our house feel!
Today I'm sharing our Spring/Easter decor.
BEWARE: There are a lot of bunnies!
I know they aren't what Easter is all about, but they sure make our house look cute!
Our Entryway...
  Living Room...
I added a spring wreath to my shelf...
Cute bunny with carrots...
 Family Room...
I placed a bunny for each of my kids in front of a grass container...
Fireplace...
 Our Kitchen...
I found these cute bunny clips at Target and just hung them with twine to make a garland.
Not too bad for a dollar!
Here is our island...
I found this adorable bunny years ago at TJ Maxx.
I also added some colorful eggs to the tray.
I actually borrowed these flowers from my daughter's room... You can see her room HERE.
They are so bright and springy!
It's been snowing here in Utah the last few days!
When I look out the window, it feels a little more like Christmas!
Our weather changes so quickly, by tomorrow it will probably be sunny and warm again.

Inspiring Mudrooms and a {REVEAL}

Our "mudroom" is pretty small and it's also our laundry room.
It is located just off the garage, so it is a dumping ground for everything.
For years, I've had this hall tree and it worked great to hang backpacks and hold shoes...
With six of us in our family, it didn't hold enough.
There were always extra coats and shoes all over the place.  For a while, I dreamed of adding on to the room to create a space like the ones on my Pinterest Board.

Here are of few of my favorites...

It just wasn't in the budget to break out the wall an add on.
So, I was pondering some ways we could add enough lockers for each of us in such a small space.
I FINALLY figured it out!
The room is small, but it does have high ceilings.
I decided to maximize the space and found that the Ikea Pax System would work.
We purchased a corner one and added another single Pax wardrobe to each side.

Then we added one more single Pax to the other side of the washing machine.

It worked!
EVERYONE in our family now has a locker... and there is also another cupboard for cleaning supplies!
My favorite part...
There are doors to hide all of the junk!
We chose the Bergsbo doors from Ikea.
We put one shelf to divide each cupboard into two sections.
I added a basket for shoes and we put hooks on each side.
There is a hook for a backpack and one for a coat.
My husband added a block of wood and then drilled the hooks. Now it can hold the heavier backpacks without damaging the cabinet.

It's still a small room, but we were able to maximize the space to work for us.
We painted the walls Sherwin Williams "Sea Salt".  It's hard to get a good picture, but It really brightened the room!
I'm always amazed at how paint can completely transform a room.
I still can't believe we figured out a way for each of us to have a locker in such a small space!

HELLO 2016...

A new year with new projects.
It felt so good to take down all of our Christmas decor, but then it made our house feel so empty.
I found this cute "hello" sign at Hobby Lobby.
It makes me happy when I walk into the kitchen.

We have started the new year organizing bedrooms and closets.
We started with my daughter's room.
We moved around her furniture, which made it feel nice and fresh.
It was just the change she needed.
It's also motivated her to keep it clean!
Then we cleared out her closet.
It feels SO good to de-junk!

Next up was my boys' room..
It was MUCH needed, we can now see the top of their dresser and desk!

We are also finally done with our basement!
It's nice to have a place for all the games.
I'll be doing a reveal soon.

I finally got around to hanging my kids' artwork.
It's been on my "list" for a few years!
This is the wall heading down to the basement.
The stairwell is all white, so we added a little color with the frames.
It makes me smile every time I pass by.
How is your New Year going?

We got all of the kids' bedrooms organized over Christmas break, but this is how my little girl's room looks today!
She has been BUSY...notice her "rug" under the table.
She is already decorating!
Happy New Year!
