I'm a stay at home mom of 4 cute kids. I love anything that has to do with homes & decorating. My husband Steve often gets recruited into helping me finish things that I start! We are making our house a "HOME" one project at a time!!

Parade Of Homes 2014: {Color}

The Salt Lake Parade Of Homes comes every August & it feels like Christmas for me!
It feeds my addiction of touring homes!

{Part 2}: Color
I loved the homes that had a neutral background and added pops of color with furniture & accent pieces.  This was such a bright & cheery house and I thought the turquoise and coral accents of color were beautiful!

 I love this colorful couch!
This kitchen was so bright... I love the pop of color the barstools added!
 I loved the whole look!
This was a little sitting area at the other end of the kitchen...Look at those views!
 This little nursery was adorable!
Here was the other side...These colors look great together!

I love the light blue color of the exterior!   The porch was also pretty dreamy!
This was the living room...notice the neutral background with pops of color with the accessories.
This home had a cottage feel, which I loved!
Isn't that the cutest sink in the laundry room?
I LOVED these windows...look at the view!
The master bedroom was beautiful!
Look at the tub in the master bath!
This whole house was like a charming cottage!  It was one of my favorites!

Parade Of Homes: Home Tour #1

The Salt Lake Parade Of Homes  just ended on Saturday.
It's something I look forward to every year!
It's so fun going on home tours to see how they are styled and decorated!
There were so many amazing homes this year, I will be breaking this into a few posts.
I noticed a few trends this year: Bright colors, beautiful bedrooms with upholstered beds, sliding barn doors, fun family rooms & cute play areas for the kids.
Let's get to the home tour!

Home #1: CD Construction Inc.
This home was AMAZING!

It was originally constructed in the 1920's and they completely renovated the existing home and added a 2,400 square foot addition.
This is the original staircase when you walk in the door.
This is the living room...I love the arched doors!
On the other side of the living room is this original woodwork and doorway that shows the upstairs hallway.
Then you go up a few steps to the dining area.

Here is the view from the other side...it was so charming!
The kitchen area is so bright!  I loved the pendant lights and the hood above the stove.
From the kitchen was this gorgeous hallway.
It led to a bathroom...
A laundry room...
 A little mudroom...
This is the view from the doors in the hallway...

A beautiful pool!
 With a beautiful patio area...
This home is full of character and charm!
It is also in such a beautiful neighborhood...
All of the streets are lined with big, old, beautiful trees!
I hope you enjoyed the first home tour!
This was definitely one of my favorites!

Fall Decorating Ideas...

It's always a sad time when summer is coming to an end, unfortunately my kids go back to school in a few days!
There is one positive thing about the end of summer...Fall!
It is one of my favorite seasons.

Here are a few things I like to incorporate into decorating for Fall:

1-Use Pumpkins

2- Use Fall Foliage

3- Use Different Containers To Display Fall

via

4-Put Them All Together

All of that inspiration helps my depression about school starting & summer coming to an end!
When do you start decorating for Fall?
